Frank Marlow is a Registered Professional Engineer and holds a BA and BSEE from Lehigh, an MSEE from Northeastern and an MBA from the University of Arizona. With a background in electronic circuit design, industrial power supplies and electrical safety, Marlow has worked for DuPont, Avco, Boeing, Raytheon and Emerson Electric.
He has served as both Secretary and Treasurer of the Long Beach-Orange County Branch of the American Welding Society. Frank has written three metal shop books since 2000. His first book, Welding Essentials: Q & A, has sold over 80,000 copies in nine printings and two editions as well as Spanish and Chinese versions.
Says Frank Marlow, "The most valuable machine shop knowledge comes from experienced machinists, not from books—until now." In Machine Shop Know-How, Marlow has gathered the know-how, methods and tips known only by master machinists and compiled them into a well-illustrated and simple-to-understand book. He has documented shop techniques which would otherwise be lost because machinists are rarely writers and writers are rarely machinists. Luckily, Frank Marlow is both.
Frank Marlow's latest book, Welding Know-How: The Tips and Techniques of Master Welders, captures the knowledge of experienced welders who have seen just about every welding problem and devised clever, workable solutions. This book will make you slap your forehead and say, "Why didn't I think of that."
