Frank Marlow is a Registered Professional Engineer and holds a BA and BSEE
from Lehigh, an MSEE from Northeastern and an MBA from the University of
Arizona. With a background in electronic circuit design, industrial power
supplies and electrical safety, Marlow has worked for Avco, Boeing, Raytheon and Emerson Electric.
He has served as both Secretary and Treasurer of
the Long Beach-Orange County AWS Section. Frank has written three metal shop books
since 2000. His first book, Welding Essentials: Q & A, has sold over
45,000 copies in nine printings and two editions as well as Spanish and
Chinese versions.
The most valuable machine shop knowledge comes from experienced machinists, not from books—until now. Frank Marlow has gathered the know-how, secrets and tips known only by master machinists and compiled them into a well-illustrated and simple-to-understand book. He has documented shop techniques which would otherwise be lost because machinists are rarely writers and writers are rarely machinists. Luckily, Frank Marlow is both.
